Taylor Swift, one of the most popular artists of all time, has a huge fan base consisting of…, her listeners are all around the world and they tend to keep up with Taylor and her adventures. One of them being her new relationship with Travis Kelce. Since this relationship has blossomed Taylor has been seen attending his football games. Taylor fans have taken notice of this and also started to watch football and attend games to get a glimpse of her. Do Taylor fans really even care about the football aspect or is it just all just to show Taylor love?
Mia Betzing (’27) a Taylor Swift fan who has recently begun watching football because of Taylor’s new relationship.
“I never really watched football until recently because of Taylor Swift, I honestly think most fans that just started watching don’t really care about the football aspect of it,” Betzing said.
In the “Time News” magazine, it talks about how many Taylor fans have started to learn the rules of football just in case Taylor started attending more football games. Talking to Alejandro Rodriguez (’26) he claims that he doesn’t like Taylor Swift at all.
“Taylor is probably the worst artist out there, her fans are definitely fake fans when it comes to football, they just want to see her on screen,” Rodriguez said.
Taylor Swift hate has started becoming more apparent ever since the fan base grew to what it is now and her fans getting into football is not making it any better. Hannah Doyon (’24) takes a different view on this situation. She claims that it’s a bit weird that fans started watching just because Taylor Swift is in the mix.
“It’s great that she goes to support her boyfriend but fans following along and watching the game are kind of weird, it’s like a cult. I’m a Taylor fan and I didnt start watching football because of her,” Doyon said.
As Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship goes further fans still tend to go to games to see Taylor. Now that the Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl will the tickets be even harder to get because of their newfound cheerleader.
