With the 2022-2023 football season coming to an end, there is a lot of discussion on who is going to make it to the Super Bowl, and what teams are going to win. Brock Petersen (‘24) supports the Packers but after they lost to the Lions on Jan. 8, they were unable to move on.

“[I got into football by] my dad showing me the Packers, which is my favorite team. [The Packers] probably weren’t going to have a good season, because we just lost all of our good players,” Petersen said.

Vania Salcedo (‘24) was rooting for the Bills, but after losing to the Bengals in the Divisional Round, they did not move one. The Bills were facing some challenges these past couple games however.

“I had high hopes for the Bills and we were doing real good, then I think Josh had a shoulder injury. Then the first Bills and Bengals game happened and that stressed me out with Damar,” Salcedo said.

Many students have plans for what they are going to be doing on the day they watch the Super Bowl on Feb. 12.

“Yes, I am watching the Super Bowl. I was invited to this Super Bowl party, so I’m going to that and then I’ll just be supporting whoever is there,” Salcedo said.

Debates are happening amongst students in regards to who they think is going to win their games this upcoming weekend, and who will win the Superbowl.

“I feel like if I’m being realistic, either the 49ers or the Bengals,” Salcedo said.

Cody Allen (‘25) got into football because he’s been surrounded by it ever since he was little. He is now a Defensive End on the school football team.

“I just played it since I was a little kid, and I liked it,” Allen said

When asked, a lot of students said that they were rooting and hoping for the Bengals and/or the 49ers to go to the Super Bowl. This is the same for what Allen had to say.

“I want to see the 49ers, or Bengals [win]. Allen said.

The final playoff games before the Super Bowl happen this Sunday on Jan. 29, where we will find out what teams make it into the Super Bowl.
